A leading global solar innovation firm experienced gaps in reporting and analytics capabilities. Their system consisted of five international databases that allowed for data storage but lacked the ability to be leveraged for data queries. The separate databases prevented information share between applications which presented concerns including; quality issues, a lack of overall data governance and process controls and a time consuming and error-prone manual reporting process.

The Intersys Solution

As a leading Big Data services provider, Intersys designed and implemented a Hadoop data lake bringing in the unconnected data from the five databases. The data lake is built on Amazon Web Services (AWS) as a scalable and centralized solution. The solution coupled with Intersys process improvements leveraging their deep data science expertise resolved the previous issues and provided an automated predictive model with a self-service yield calculation reporting solution.
